There's no "world music" - no reggae, no Congolese rumba, no Latin music (in fact, no non-Anglophone music, I think). There's no pop music - whether that means Frank Sinatra, or it means Taylor Swift. There's no country, there's millennial rap but no earlier rap, there's very little soul music. There's no classical, which I listen to second most. There's very little jazz, which is mostly what I listen to. The stuff on this list is almost all rock and roll, which is a sort of music that no longer interests me that much, maybe it makes of 2 percent of the music I listen to these days. I think I own or have heard 55 or so of these, but my opinion from reading the list, is that the people who use RYM are interested in very different music than the music I'm interested in, and we have very different tastes (Charlie Parker with Strings, 3.5 stars?). The Rise and Fall of Ziggy Stardust and the Spiders From Mars I've been putting off listening to Blackstar since Bowie's death, so maybe I should finally give it a listen. I own 85 and out of the 15 I'm missing I've heard a few. The lack of classical is understandable as I'm unsure how an aggregated ranking system would work well honing in on specific performances/albums. I think it's fine and a great "starter pack" for good music in general.

How many do you own? How many have you heard? How many have you not heard of? Who owns 0 or all of them? Whatever, just talk about the list. I haven't looked at the Top 100 in a few years.
